Rotary eClub One of District 5450 Leads District

In Per Capital Annual Giving to The Rotary Foundation

President Tim Mowbray and the Board of Directors of Rotary eClub One are very pleased to advise that through the latest reporting period, our Club leads the District in per capital giving to The Rotary Foundation for Annual Programs Fund.  This totals $403.85 per member.

How has this been accomplished in a Club of 40 members spread around the world in 9 different countries and in multiple time zones?

Here are several factors:

We ask!  Each member is asked to give to the Foundation when they join the Club.  Most members use the convenience of giving with their quarterly dues payment so that the money is donated throughout the entire year.  Some members chose to provide an annual payment for their Sustaining membership to the Foundation and still others provided a payment when their finances allow.

We educate!  The Club’s programs section provides an ongoing education about the Foundation and the good works going on in places and areas where the need is greatest.  We also provide for internal education of new members about the Foundation and provide detailed information about a particular program or giving opportunity when asked.

We use the Foundation!  Rotary eClub One has successfully completed two Matching Grants – one for an 800 person per year life saving Blood Bank in Omoku, Nigeria through the Safe Blood Africa program and the other for a 4 city Water System project in the Chiapas Region of Mexico.

We use our Club resources!  Several members of Rotary eClub One are multiple Paul Harris Fellows – in fact 15 out of 40 members are Paul Harris Fellows more than once.  There are a total of 40 Paul Harris Fellows either in the Club or sponsored by the Club.  This is an excellent resource for new Rotarians or Rotarians who have recently joined our Club.  We are true believers in the Foundation. This is why we have donated over $53,000 to the Foundation since the formation and chartering of our Club (January, 2002).

We publish the need!  One of the purposes of our website is to assist other Rotarians in making up for a missed meeting, and we use this opportunity to provide our visitors with information about the ongoing need of The Rotary Foundation for additional funds.

We are there!  Many Club members live in or near areas where the need for Rotary Foundation projects exist, or they are involved in service or work programs that could use Foundation grants and monies.  There is a simple truth to this circumstance – you have to have givers in order that the funds can be used.  There is another old adage in the foundation business – “Givers Give!”

We hope that you and your club can use this example of our club to inspire your club to Lead the Way, Share Rotary and Make Dreams Real.

From Rotary eClub One Webmaster...

It is a mandatory requirement that Rotarians spend at least 30 minutes on the Rotary eClub One website to qualify for a make-up credit. Please use your 30 minute visit to review a variety of articles from our Programs section and/or information from our web site pages. As always, Rotarians should apply the 4-Way Test to the time they spend on the Rotary eClub One site for a make-up.
