The RotaKids concept is spreading. Now a New Generations project of many Rotary districts and clubs in Britain and Ireland (RIBI), RotaKids connects schools and local Rotary clubs. The RotaKids work with Rotarians on local projects. They might plant trees or clean up a park; they might sponsor an event such as a race or show that raises money for a local cause.
As a RotaKid, I promise
To be fair to all,
To serve my community,
To show respect for others.
RotaKids is a program designed to gather youngsters between 7 and 12 years old to work together on a meaningful project.
The community benefits from the projects, but the schools also benefit because students are motivated and enthusiastic about what they are doing because they are having fun. And in the process the RotaKids are using their mathematics and language skills as well as learning about respecting themselves and others, helping the community, and being good citizens.
