Rotary Warwick has gone to the races as
part of an intriguing new corporate partnership.
The Midlands club has joined
forces with Warwick Racecourse through a corporate membership.
David Smith recently inducted
Andre Klein, General Manager of the racecourse, as the club’s first corporate
member.
The Warwick club is keen to
work with local businesses and organisations who want to support local
charities and events, and to invite them to become corporate members of the
club.
Since Andre Klein took over at
the racecourse, he has been keen to involve the community and invites local
schools on race days to see what goes on.
He approached the club two
years ago to assist with parking owners’ and trainers’ cars on race days, and the
racecourse has, in turn, supported Rotary club funds.
The Warwick Town Bonfire,
organised by Rotary and Lions club members, has been held for many years next
to the racecourse on St Mary’s car park.
Last year the event outgrew its
location and moved onto the main racecourse.
Andre Klein and his team have
given every support to organisers and over 6,500 are expected at this year’s
event on Saturday, November 3rd with their facilities available for
hospitality.
Similarly, the Thai festival
moved to the racecourse in 2016 and has now become a fixture with staff lending
a helping hand to ensure its success.
President David Smith welcomed Andre, who was accompanied by some of his team, and said how much the club was looking forward to the racecourse playing an active part in club activities.
