Tamil RYLA 2024

TAMIL RYLA 2023-24 AT KODAIKANAL
Organised by Rotary Club- Kodaikanal and Rotary eClubOne
21st to 23rd February 2024.

Tamil RYLA – was organised for students of 9th standard from Tamil medium schools and orphanages. There were around 57 participants from various backgrounds who participated enthusiastically with expectations to learn something that would transform their lives and futures. There were several faculty members who shared their expertise to bring lessons for life to these students in a joyful environment. Participants learnt new skills to help them develop more confidence, be better leaders and develop high self esteem. They also celebrated Rotary day with local Rotarians.

Tamil RYLA was organized in Kodaikanal, a hill town in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, a beautiful hill station at 2000 metres above sea level. At the centre of the town is the star-shaped Kodaikanal Lake, bordered by evergreen forest. The hill town has a population of 76,893.

This project has been supported by the eclub one since the year 2014 - 15 when it was initiated by the then YSG Committee Chair Amy, Australia. Since then Rotary eClubOne member Isaac has been organizing one of the YSG projects namely Tamil RYLA and WRD-World Rotary Day Celebration at Kodaikanal Community in Tamil Nadu, South India with the local host Club Kodaikanal in Dist.3000. This is the 9th year of organizing the Tamil RYLA event.
